Seven Year Switch viewers reacted furiously to Tony’s angry demand for Nikki to “wind her neck in” during last night’s episode, with dozens of profane insults directed at the Essex hairdresser on Twitter.
Tony threw a tantrum as he inspected photos of his real-life partner Gemma camping with her show partner Simon – Nikki’s husband – as part of a trust exercise.
But while Nikki seemed unaffected by seeing a snap of Simon and Gemma sitting outside their tent – adding Gemma “looks really sweet” – Tony stomped off, ripping off his microphone and slamming a door as he left.

“I get it is hard for Tony,” said an understanding Nikki, also making it clear she believed the issue was his.
She added: “It says a lot about where he’s at if he’s struggling.”
Tony admitted he feared he was “failing as a partner” as he consulted therapist Lee Valls over his worries about where Gemma was sleeping.

“I don’t think anyone would like to hear the other half is enjoying herself more in the company of someone else,” he said.
“Not just ‘someone else’, but a male.”
As he returned to apologise and sit with Nikki, Tony also confessed to feeling sick at the thought Gemma might be having a better time with Simon.
“I should be in that picture with her,” he said, before dramatically kissing the photo.
Vowing never to take Gemma – who later said she was lucky to have trust in her relationship – for granted again, a worried Tony asked: “What if I’m not enough for her?”
“He is really vulnerable and doesn’t know how to express that,” Nikki surmised to the cameras.
But although Nikki was initially sympathetic about Tony’s insecurities, she soon tired of him being the centre of attention.
The next day, she ranted: “Every single situation is about what Tony wants and Tony needs.
“I’m just fed up with it.”
Another meeting between the makeshift couple proved less cordial as Nikki snapped over being “caught up in all this [bleep]ing selfishness”.
Told to calm down and “wind her neck in” by Tony, Nikki angrily blasted him for being “disrespectful”.
“It is like you can’t grasp there’s three other people in this process,” Nikki shouted, her patience worn out.
And although Tony ended up sobbing to himself after the verbal onslaught, viewers had no time for his choice of words.
‘Wind your neck back in’ – I’d have smashed that bottle over Tony’s head! He is so self centred and a drama queen #sevenyearswitch
