We’ve all seen enough Loose Women to know these women enjoy a bit of drama – but things majorly kicked up a gear during Thursday’s show, when presenter Christine Bleakley encouraged three different women to propose to their partner live on air!
But – while it may sound romantic – many viewers were seriously unimpressed, complaining that the segment was “so embarrassing” and “a shambles”.
Christine, 40, opened the Valentine’s Day special show by whispering to the camera about the planned triple proposal, promising “anything could happen” but when the moment came, it was more chaos than romance.
Things went wrong as Christine left the other panellists – Jane Moore, Chizzy Akudolu, and Carol McGiffin – to join the audience. Music drowned out parts of the three proposals, one of the women struggled to find her ring, and the camera missed two of the proposals as they went down on one knee at the same time.
Many viewers slammed the disorganised format, with one complaining: “It was a bit of a shambles, not presented very well.” A second agreed, saying: “Not very well done as you only seen 1 couple actually proposing 🙄.”
A third commented: “Couldn’t hear the other two couples propose as singing was so loud.”
Others just hated the awkwardness, with one fan tweeting: “That was pure cringe. The first guy didn’t look too impressed. Hate proposals like this cos as if they could say no 🤣.”
Another agreed, writing: “Poor blokes being put on the spot!! I’d love to be a fly on the wall with the first bloke… he did not look happy about it. The whole thing was embarrassing and awkward.” A third added: “I couldn’t watch, it was so embarrassing 🙈.”

Other – more romantic viewers – loved the segment. One commented: “Not even gonna lie that was beautiful.”
Another tweeted: “Aww this was sooo lovely. Huge Congrats to them. Wishing them all a lovely engagement and a beautiful wedding filled with love and happiness ❤️xxx.”
A third wrote: “I’ve given up on love but to see others who have met their match is so lucky x.”
Loose Women later took to Twitter to share a short sweet clip of one of the couples, where the man said he was “over the moon,” adding: “This girl’s my world.” His new fiancée replied: “Don’t make me cry again!”
