As the winners of the 2019 National Television Awards nursed their sore heads this morning, many viewers of the show have complained that it’s all got a bit boring.
Venting their frustration on Twitter they felt the show had become predictable with the same people and shows winning year after year.
Arguably the most controversial win of the night went to Ant and Dec as Best TV Presenter when Ant has had the year off. Even Ant said he felt he couldn’t accept it.

The win was a record 18th for the duo, with not even 2018’s golden girl Holly Willoughby able to touch them.
This Morning also scooped the Best Daytime Programme Award for a ninth year in a row, with Holly and Phil turning up a little worse for wear to host Wednesday’s show.
The Bodyguard was the big winner on the night taking home Best New Drama and Best Drama Performance for lead actor Richard Madden. But the show had been such a big hit, many felt the win was an obvious one.
The only success that did come as a surprise – and delighted viewers – was Peaky Blinders scooping the Best Drama award. It seemed to be such a shock that no one actually made it to the ceremony!
“The NTAs are so predictable. The only surprise was Peaky Blinders and none of them showed up,” wrote one person.
Another agreed: “This old show needs a rethink,” while someone else said: “It seems the NTAs are tediously predictable.”
Well the #NTAs was dull, predictable tosh, but almost worth it to see Bros at the end.

I’ve remembered now why I don’t normally watch #NTAs . Thrilled for #CarShare but otherwise so predictable. And this year a bit tone deaf.

Production of #NTAs tonight is bad lots of things going wrong and #westlife were really bad this old show needs a rethink its become cringe worthy @ITV and predictable .

It seems the #NTAs are tediously predictable – same old shows.
There are a few new things on TV but no awards or recognition.
I guess people want the same old stuff as a comfort blanket in a changing world.
No surprise I don't watch a lot of TV.#NTAAwards— Another Person 💙 (@stsresident) January 22, 2019
had no idea the #NTAs were on tonight, most winners are predictable so no longer a surprise

Is it me or are the #NTAs just the most predictable amount of garbage of an award show ever? Same winners every single year and I’m sure Ant will win also even though he’s not been on all year. Where is the remote to change channel.

Others just thought the show was a bit awkward. They weren’t fans of Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham’s hosting skills in particular as they were tasked with backstage duties.
the NTA’s are so awkward and messy this year I can’t help but laugh

Is this a dress rehearsal or something?! Unprofessional, awkward, zero atmosphere, weirdest NTA's ever. How embarrassing! #NTAs

Others wins on the night included Danny Dyer who took home Best Serial Drama Performance for his role as Mick Carter in EastEnders.
The actor got choked up as he accepted his gong and then dropped the F-bomb live on stage, for which Dermot was forced to apologise.
