The Apprentice is back on BBC One and is already proving controversial, as viewers slam the contestants as “the worst ever”.
Wednesday night saw the start of the new series, with a whole new set of candidates vying to win a position working for Lord Alan Sugar. But fans blasted the show, accusing it of being “rubbish” and the contestants as “all so annoying!!”
Ahead of the start of the show, Lord Sugar, 71, tweeted: “OK folks Apprentice 2018 is off. BBC1.”
But viewer enthusiasm didn’t last long, with many complaining about the group.
One wrote: “Worst apprentices I’ve seen ever. Stupid headless [bleeping] chickens #TheApprentice.”
Another commented: “My god, they are all so annoying!!”
A third wrote simply: “Rubbish 😢”, while one viewer complained: “These have to be the worst bunch of contestants on the apprentice ever! Brain dead. All of them.”
Others also moaned about a sexist comment early on in the show, writing: “5 mins in and someone in #TheApprentice said one of the most sexist things I’ve heard in months. Clearly, he doesn’t take women seriously in the workplace.”
Another added: “Apparently, the girls aren’t going to do well because they’ll be ‘concentrating on their make up’. So it looks like we’ve had our first ridiculously sexist comment of the series. #TheApprentice”.
But others were more positive, tweeting: “I’ve been waiting on this for a year… glass of wine, and we’re off😀😀…THE best program on the box 👍.”
Another wrote: “It’s so good 💃🏼”.
A third wrote: “Loved Week 1! Can’t wait for the next episode. . . Maybe you should get your bestie @piersmorgan to apply. You could just fire him 😂😂.”

It followed last week’s Photoshop blunder when the official photos were released.
Hopeful candidates Kayode Damil, 26, and Frank Brooks, 27, can both be seen with their arms crossed in the shots ahead of the brand new series, which starts next month.
And eagle eyed fans noticed something rather wrong with the snaps, as they both seem to have three hands.
Fans were amused by the Photoshop mishap and rushed to social media to point it out.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Have spent the entire day laughing at this guy with three hands on #TheApprentice!”
They may be an annoying bunch, but you have to admit, it’s compelling viewing. Let’s see if the second episode next week can turn opinions around…
