Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has revealed her daughter Scarlett Thomas is following in her footsteps and is joining the cast of Waterloo Road.
Sharing a picture of the new Waterloo Road student cast, Scarlett, who is also the daughter of former Corrie star Ryan Thomas, can be seen in amongst the new cast.

Tina captioned the post: “Very excited to finally announce that my gorgeous, lovely, talented Scarlett Thomas will be in the new series of @waterlooroad @bbciplayer #proudmum.”
Her followers commented on the post to congratulate Scarlett on her new role.
Catherine Tyldesley commented: “That girl has always been the brightest of stars.”
On fan wrote: “Congratulations to your daughter.”
A second said: “Well done Scarlett.”

Waterloo Road fans will know Tina had a role in the popular BBC school drama. In series six she played Bex Fisher, the oldest daughter of headteacher Karen Fisher.
Meanwhile Scarlett’s uncle, Adam Thomas, played Donte Charles from series one to four.
Adam will be returning to the new series to reprise his role, alongside Katie Griffiths, who played Donte’s wife Chlo Charles and Angela Griffin, who played Kim Campbell.
What else do we know about the new series of Waterloo Road?
Several other names have also been announced for the cast of the new Waterloo Road including former Corrie stars Kym Marsh, Rachel Leskovac and Ryan Clayton.
Kym will be playing Nicky Walters, mother of two pupils and school canteen worker.

Meanwhile Rachel Leskovac, who played Natasha Blakeman in Corrie, will be playing Head of English, Coral Walker and Ryan Clayton will be playing a character called Mike.
The new series will be set in Greater Manchester.
The original show ran from 2006 until 2015. It was originally set in Rochdale and in season 8, the show moved to Greenock, Scotland.
