Emmerdale fans go wild as Laurel FINALLY gives Emma what for

No slap has been this popular since Millie took on Hugo in early Made In Chelsea

Soap loves a slap, especially when the slapee is someone we all hate and the slapp…er (unfortunate) is someone that we love. Step forward: Emmerdale’s Emma and Laurel.

After Harriet told Laurel that she had seen Emma drive off with her son Arthur, Laurel was livid/ terrified/ arggghhh in the way you might be when you know your son is in a moving vehicle with a murderer.

She legged it round to Emma’s and demanded to know where Emma was from Ross, but Emma was just pulling up outside with Arthur.

It turned out that she’d taken him to the hospital because he’d been stung by a wasp – er, dubious – but Laurel wasn’t all that interested in that and just went straight in for the slapping.

And viewers were LOVING it.

One posted: “U go Laurel… We all wanted to do THAT!!”

Another added” “Good on you laurel, bout time someone slapped her around the face.”

A third said, succinctly, “Queen laurel.”

Others thought it was pointless though as Emma always gets away with it. Fair point.

“Laurel needs to leave crazy alone,” one posted. “[Expletive] Barton never loses.”

Laurel’s reaction came after she discovered recently that Emma had killed her own husband James. Emma has managed to get away with it ever since she pushed him off a bridge last year which by soap standards of secret keeping is a LIFETIME.

Of course because this is Emmerdale and they like to make us feel more frustrated than a chocolate machine that won’t decant Mars Bars no matter how many 60ps we put in, Emma is trying to make Laurel look like she’s lying by saying that she is drinking again. She’s not drinking! Why won’t anyone listen?

Laurel’s not letting it go though.

“You’re not getting away with this, I won’t let you,” she told Emma at the time.

“The police might believe you but I don’t and I’m gonna make sure that everyone in this village knows exactly what you are and that is a murderer.”

Oh god, can we please give Laurel a break soon? Perhaps with a nice storyline involving a trip to a lovely Yorkshire country spa and a hearty dinner?
