EastEnders fans puzzled by Luke Browning’s mysterious disappearance

He was last seen being shoved in a van and despite having a sister and brother left, no-one seems to care where he is

It is a mystery that would tax the brains of Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot and Jessica Fletcher if they were ever to pop to Walford.

EastEnders fans are utterly perplexed about the whereabouts of Luke Browning and why his brother Josh doesn’t seem a bit concerned that he’s dropped off the face of the planet.

The evil businessman – played by actor Adam Astill in the BBC soap – was last seen at the beginning of December being dragged inot a van by Aidan Maguire’s henchmen as Phil Mitchell watched on.

Viewers know Phil took revenge after Luke assaulted his son Ben and showed his true colours.

But since then, despite appearances by Luke’s sister Fi Browning, his father James Willmott-Brown and his younger brother Josh Hemmings, no-one seems to have noticed he has disappeared.

At first it was explained that Luke sometimes disappears with a new boyfriend, but after two months of presumably no contact, viewers are wondering why Josh doesn’t seem at all bothered.

His sister has fled abroad after wrestling control of the family firm from her dad and uncle, leaving them penniless.

But Josh has been so wrapped up with his relationship with Lauren Branning that he doesn’t seem to have even noticed his lack of a brother.

But viewers have.

One wrote on Twitter: “I’m still wondering what happened to Luke Brown…and the current condition of Wilmott-Brown #eastenders”

Another tweeted: “What happened to Luke when I got took in the back of the van?

“I’m sure #eastenders have skipped the end of that storyline.”

A third added: “Seeing as we are finding out many years later about storylines we’ve long stopped caring about, I’d say check back in 2028 to hear about Luke. #EastEnders”
