It’s a big week in Emmerdale and show bosses have confirmed that one villager will be killed off during the as yet unknown disaster which will strike on Thursday.
Little is known about what happens but signs point to a terrible accident at the B&B causing a tragic fatality.
Of course the Emmerdale big cheeses like to keep these things totally secret and – as no one has announced they’ve left – the fatality is looking like it will be a huge shock.
But Emmerdale superfans might have spotted a few clues. If you haven’t, here’s a little round-up of who we think the victim could be – and why.
Gerry Roberts
Gerry Roberts is looking like the most obvious victim after that trailer which showed Lachlan plotting how to get away with murder and then throwing Gezza death-glares throughout.
Gerry knows the truth about Lachlan being behind the car crash that killed Chrissie and Lawrence. And knowledge is danger as far as Lachlan White is concerned. Watch your back, Gerry lad.
Aaron Dingle
This Morning’s soap expert Sharon Marshall dropped a hint that the villager facing the grim reaper could be someone we all love and who fits that bill better than Aaron? She said: “There’ll be some terrible events in the village, leading to the death of one of the residents.
“And I have to say, this was a hard one to let go, this character.” We also know from spoilers that Chas and Paddy have a panic at their engagement party on Thursday when Aaron doesn’t turn up. Has he been caught up in the carnage?
Ross Barton
We’re basing this on Sharon’s comment again and also the fact that Mike Parr recently hinted that he might be stepping away from Emmerdale in the not-too-distant-future.
Speaking on This Morning last month, the actor admitted he’d love a new challenge and is considering quitting the Dales and heading to the States at some point.
He said: “I feel like I’ve had a big American influence in my life and I feel it’s always calling me. I think it would be so cool to do a year in New York and then maybe go for it in LA, see if I can get some work out there.”
Could Ross die? And what would that do to Pete??
Lachlan White
While the trailer has hugely hinted that Gerry will die in the B&B, it’s also possible that whatever dastardly scheme Lachlan has cooked up could actually backfire and leave him dead.
There have been rumours knocking around for ages that Thomas Atkinson would be bowing out of the village after a murder spree and – by Law of Soap – because he’s killed he really needs to pay by dying himself.
Could Lachlan’s comeuppance be nigh?
Doug Potts
So it looks like the B&B is going to be the setting of the death… after Diane spotted a crack in the ceiling ahead of Lachlan and Belle Dingle’s bar opening, Doug did a DIY job on it, instead of getting professionals in. Will this cost him his life in a terrible accident?
Or will he inadvertently cause the death of a much loved-character?

An Emmerdale spokesperson told Inside Soap: “We’re remaining tight-lipped about exactly what’s going to happen, so the audience can watch the drama as it takes place on screen.
“It’s safe to say that what occurs that day in the B&B will have ramifications for some of our characters for the rest of their lives.”
