Louise Minchin announced her shock departure from BBC Breakfast this week – but who is a favourite a replace her?
The 50-year-old star joined the programme back in 2001, before moving on to lead presenter in 2012.
And there’s plenty of candidates lining up for her role.
Who will replace Louise Minchin on BBC Breakfast?
While the BBC are yet to announce Louise’s replacement, it hasn’t stopped bookies from compiling potential favourites.
Betting agents Ladbrokes has given Emma Barnett odds of 6/4 to appear alongside Dan Walker.
The British broadcaster has been main presenter of Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 since January.

Following close behind is Charlene White at 3/1.
BBC Breakfast regular Sally Nugent has odds of 4/1, while Ranvir Singh comes in at 5/1.
Meanwhile, This Morning host Eamonn Holmes is also in the mix at 7/1.
Following Louise’s announcement yesterday (June 9), Eamonn shared a snap of himself while on his way to a work meeting.
But did it have anything to do with BBC Breakfast?
Other hosting suggestions include Charlotte Hawkins, Mishal Huasin, Martha Kearney and Piers Morgan.
The early signs point towards Emma Barnett
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told ED!: “The early signs point towards Emma Barnett, but a move for a GMB star isn’t completely being ruled out at this point, if the latest odds are anything to go by.”
Furthermore, Louise has also been tipped to appear in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Why is Louise leaving BBC Breakfast?
Despite working on the show for 20 years, Louise admitted she’s looking forward to a lie-in.
She said in a statement: “I have absolutely loved being part of the 6 million strong BBC Breakfast family but after nearly two decades presenting the programme, I have decided it is time I stopped setting my alarm for 0340 in the morning.
“I will take so many memories with me, including reporting on the shock and anguish of the Manchester Arena bombing; starting a national conversation about Menopause…

“…and the life-changing moment I took part in the Breakfast Christmas Cycling Challenge which inspired my ongoing passion for endurance sport, which I will continue when I leave.

Furthermore, Louise explained her decision on the programme yesterday.
Louise and co-presenter Dan have worked on the show together for five years.
