Baby Susie’s dad Aidan, who took his own life, left the factory to his business partner Alya in his will, leaving Carla and the rest of the Connor family out in the cold.
As Carla reaches breaking point it’s Peter who is her knight in shining armour. The only chance she has of getting back the business she once owned is to buy new owner Alya out. She doesn’t have the cash, and with her dad, Johnny, focused on his own problems, Peter is her only hope.

When Gemma and her boyfriend Harry make Peter an offer to buy the Rovers, he decides to use the money to help his ex-wife buy back what is rightfully hers – Underworld.
The pair grow close as Peter offers Carla support in her hour of need, but will their efforts to save the business lead to a romantic reunion? Or will it be strictly platonic?
