Nicole Scherzinger was blasted by X Factor viewers for not wearing a poppy during tonight’s show – before she hastily began wearing one in the second half of the show.
The Poison singer was slammed as “disrespectful” by fans after she appeared on the show without the red flower that is worn in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day.
The former Pussycat Dolls front woman wore a cream-coloured lace dress for Sunday night’s episode of the show but eagle-eyed viewers spotted she was missing a Remembrance Day poppy, and they were not impressed.
While Scherzinger originally failed to sport the mark of respect, her fellow judges, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, host Dermot O’Leary and the contestants all displayed the red flower proudly.

Furious viewers flocked to social media to ask: ”Where’s Nicole’s poppy?”
“#XFactor why isn’t Nicole wearing a poppy???? I know she’s not British but come on ya on a British show very disrespectful I must say,” tweeted another.
A third wrote: ”Such shame Nicole Sherzinger isnt wearing a poppy on the #XFactor – it’s not like her dress doesn’t have enough holes 2put it in.”
“Unsure as to why #NicoleScherzy can’t wear a Poppy? #TheXFactor certainly hope it’s not so she doesn’t ruin her dress…” said another.
“Where is Nicoles poppy? The disrespect,” said another upset viewer.
However, shortly after the furore picked up steam during the live show, a poppy hastily appeared on Nicole’s dress.

One viewer tweeted: “#XFactor #NicoleScherzinger No poppy… people kick off on Twitter…. Then the poppy appears… Oh dear!”
Another added: “Ahh finally the production crew of TheXFactor have given NicoleScherzy a poppy to wear-took a while but she got there in the end.”
