As Kayley Taylor bellowed out the Evanescence track My Immortal on Saturday night’s episode of The X Factor, we got a real sense of déjà vu.
That face – we couldn’t help thinking we’d seen it somewhere before.
Sure enough, it transpires that the talented hopeful has been on TV before, in rather different circumstances.
The 27-year-old from Liverpool appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show three years ago, where she was accused of stealing her dad’s mobile phone.
In the segment – I found my long-lost father and I hope DNA proves he’s not my dad – Kayley’s old man accused her of pinching his handset, an allegation that she denied.
However, Kayley was made to take the ITV daytime show’s infamous lie-detector test – and FAILED.
Now, though, the tattooed mum says she’s determined to make amends for past slip-ups.

“I don’t pretend to be perfect – I’m human,” she told The Sun.
“I’ve made a number of mistakes in the past and I’m now trying to better my life.”
She made the best possible start when she appeared on Saturday’s X Factor – the curtain-raiser for the ITV singing show’s 14th series.
As well as wowing the judges with her crooning skills – she secured four yeses from the judges – she had the place in stitches.

First, she turned around to reveal a tattoo she’d had done on her lower back – of Simon Cowell’s name alongside a heart.
And then she described herself as a “Vicky Pollard lookalike” – a reference to the overweight character from sketch show Little Britain.
But putting Kayley through to Bootcamp, Sharon Osbourne told her: “Stop all the [expletive] about the weight – it doesn’t matter.
“It’s who you are.”
Well, if Saturday’s performance is anything to go by, Kayley’s a potential winner – and that’s definitely not a lie.
