You can now get a DEGREE in soaps, which includes work experience on set

We'd pass with first class honours!

Forget maths and english! TV fans can now get a degree in their favourite soaps!

The University of Central Lancashire has launched a fast-track BA-Honours Continuing Drama Production degree which starts this September.

The queue starts here!

According to The Sun, soap fans will be able to study their favourite shows and the course even has its own Coronation Street-style outdoor set.

And there’s even better news for students, as the course will be completed in two rather than three years to help reduce student debt.

Why did no one think of this before?!

The degree will give students the chance to gain invaluable work experience on the soaps, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders.

They’ll train to be producers, directors, sounds engineers, editors, writers and camera operators.

The degree is backed by current Corrie star Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown, who helped launch the course with a Q&A for prospective students.

She told them that the behind-the-scenes teams and camera crews on Corrie were treated like part of the family.

Cold Feet star John, who played Jesse Chadwick on Corrie for two years, is also backing the course and said: “This is an exciting and innovative course that will give students a real-world experience.”
